Using this device for the first time tonight in my 12" Dob. Can't be more pleased with my purchase! So easy to set up, align and just go. Once you've plate solved and aligned on the first star, everything simply falls dead center. Pick an object and go, pick another object and go..........

Only lost connection once. Reconnected in seconds. If you move the 'scope too fast, you may have to give it a brief moment to realign itself. That's it.

Highly recommended!

The Hopper has been a game changer for me, I have a myriad collection of vintage alt az and equatorial scopes, with my favorites being vintage fork mounted Celestron 11" and 14" models.

Hopper works on all of them with just a Vixen compatible finder shoe and accuracy is phenomenal, better than I've ever had with encoders and a traditional DSC computer on my Obsession 15".

The Cedar Aim app and interface with Sky Safari are really easy to set up and use.  I like the small physical size and weight and no sensitivity to orientation.

Steve has been super helpful on after purchase support when I've had questions.  This has been my best astro accessory purchase ever!

I now have a Hopper.  I am liking it..

I've got a 6" dob that cost me almost $300. At first I thought spending more than that on a Hopper was crazy - like, that's more than the scope itself!

But then I actually thought about it. With my red-dot finder and the basic star hopping I know, I can maybe find a few dozen things on a good night. A 6 inch scope can see down to mag 12, but even just looking at mag 10 (which is easy in my scope), there's like 1000 objects in Hopper's catalog visible in my sky tonight.

So yeah, the Hopper basically doubled what I spent on the telescope... but it lets me find 20x more stuff. Totally worth it!

My Hopper is working great.

I even use it in light polluted areas.

I have used it doing Sidewalk astronomy in Capitola and out on the Santa Cruz Wharf.

The Hopper finally solved all the DSC problems I have had with my Hubble Optics 18" telescope.

I finally got a chance to try out the CS Hopper last night, a week after receiving it. My aim was to try out how well the unit worked with both the cedar aim app, and skysafari (v7 plus). As noted, the unit is very light and use is straightforward…

It worked flawlessly.

...The CS Hopper did everything I needed and wanted... Very happy with my outing so far. Highly recommended.

After a couple nights using the Hopper it’s a great astro gear to invest in. It easily quadruples the amount of objects I can observe in one night - and clear nights being far and few in between in my area, it’s dramatic. I’m not talking about star hopping to the classic favorites but finding dim faint objects amongst many dim faint objects, or locating objects with changing positions like comets.
